Giant Beta

This female Giant Betta had “PopEye” on her right eye. It was treated with SeaChem’s “KanaPlex” and now the Right eye looks Good.
But the fish just hangs near the surface and doesn’t move, doesn’t eat- even live Daphne or Live BBS.

Please suggest the right treatment- before the fish dies,

  1. I apologize for the delay in responding. We’ve received a large number of questions, and we need to prioritize responding to those with order numbers.

From the picture, the condition of this female giant betta is quite worrying. Although her previously “PopEye” eye has improved with KanaPlex treatment, her behavior of floating motionless at the surface, refusing to swim, and refusing to eat (even her favorite food like artemia) indicates she is suffering from accumulated fatigue, extreme stress, or possibly an internal infection/acute kidney failure – a side effect of both the pre-existing disease and the effects of the strong antibiotics.

Since she has stopped eating, we cannot add medication to her food. Therefore, the focus must be on restoring her health and water quality urgently.

We recommend lowering the water level to about 4-6 inches and changing the water every 2-3 days. Keep the water clean at all times. When feeding, ensure no leftover food is in the tank. Add Indian almond leaves to the water until it resembles tea, and add 1 teaspoon of salt per 3 liters of water. Repeat this process until her eye recovers.

Again, we apologize for the delay in responding. 🙏
